Spaces
Spaces are the top-level containers in Docs. Use them to separate audiences: an internal Engineering space, a Support Knowledge space that backs your AI agent, or an external-capable space that becomes your public help center.
Creating a space
On the Docs home page, click New space.
Pick a name, slug (used in URLs), icon (emoji), and an optional description.
Choose the space type:
Internal — knowledge for your team only.
External-capable — can be published to the public help center.
Choose the visibility:
Workspace-wide — everyone in the workspace can read it.
Team-only — restricted to selected teams.
Optionally set default review days — a cadence for re-reviewing content (see Document drafts & publishing).
You can also start from a template — Company Wiki, Engineering, Support Knowledge, Marketing, Sales — which pre-fills name, slug, icon, and description.
Managing spaces
Edit a space's name, icon, description, visibility, teams, or review cadence from the space settings.
Reorder spaces from Docs home via Arrange mode; order is per workspace.
Delete a space from its settings. Helpin shows the delete impact first — the collections and documents that will be removed — and spaces can be restored for a period after deletion.
Space pages
Each space has its own page showing:
The collection tree on the left, including nested collections and document counts.
A documents table with title, status, owner, and last-updated columns.
The uncategorized section listing documents in the space that are not in any collection.
Quick actions: New document, New collection, and Arrange.
Choosing internal vs external-capable
Only external-capable spaces can be published to the public help center. A common setup: keep "Product Specs" internal and "Help Center" external-capable, then publish only the articles customers should see. See Help Center.
