Collections
Collections are folders inside a space. They group related documents — "Support Inbox", "Onboarding", "Runbooks" — and give your Docs library a browsable tree.
Creating collections
Open a space and click New collection.
Give it a name, an optional description, and an optional icon.
Choose a parent collection to nest it, or leave it at the top level.
Collections nest up to two levels deep (a top-level collection can contain one nested level). The Docs UI keeps deep structures readable with indentation and indentation guide lines in the tree.
Organizing documents
Create a document directly inside a collection via New document on a collection card or row.
Move documents between collections (and between spaces) with the move dialog on any document.
Reorder by dragging in Arrange mode, or from the space page. Order is scoped per parent, so sorting a section never shuffles other sections.
Documents not in any collection appear in the space's Uncategorized section — they're still fully searchable and linkable.
Deleting and restoring
Deleting a collection shows its delete impact (nested collections and documents) before confirming.
Collections can be restored after deletion, along with their documents, from the delete confirmation flow or an admin.
Tips
Mirror your team structure: one top-level collection per product area, nested collections per release or module.
Keep collection names stable — they appear in the public help center's navigation and breadcrumbs, and automatic redirects handle renames (see Redirects management).
Use collection descriptions for a one-line summary of what belongs inside.
