Documents & the editor
Documents are the primary objects in Docs. Everything you write — specs, guides, meeting notes — is a document with a status, an owner, and a full history.
Creating documents
Click New document from Docs home, a space page, or a collection card.
Give the document a title (stored separately from the body — don't repeat it as a heading), an optional icon and excerpt, and optional tags.
Pick the space and, optionally, the collection it belongs to.
Templates (like PRDs) can pre-fill a starting structure.
The editor opens immediately in draft status and auto-saves as you type — the save indicator in the header shows Saving…, Saved, and the last-saved time.
The document header
Status pill — Draft, Published, or Archived, with color coding.
Owner and tags — set from the header or the document menu.
Publish / Unpublish button (when you have permission).
Share, lock, export, move, duplicate, archive from the document menu.
Docs rail tabs on the right: Overview, Comments, History, Linked, and References.
Managing documents
Move a document to another space or collection at any time; links to it keep working.
Duplicate creates a fresh draft copy.
Archive hides a document from listings without deleting it; archived docs can be unarchived or deleted from the archive view.
Lock a document to prevent further edits while still allowing reads.
Delete moves the document to a recoverable state; spaces, collections, and documents all support restore.
The editor
The body is a rich, block-based editor. Type / for the full block menu, select text for the floating toolbar, and use the right rail for comments, history, links, and references. Details live in Editor Features.
