Help center customization & branding
The help center is brandable end-to-end: your domain, your logo, your colors, and your layout — configured by workspace admins without touching code.
Public URL modes
Mode | URL shape | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Hosted subdomain |
| Default; zero setup |
Custom domain |
| Point a CNAME at Helpin; TLS is handled |
Reverse proxy |
| Serve under your own path; set host + base path |
Branding
Brand name and logo — light and dark logo variants are supported (auto-switches with the visitor's theme).
Brand color — used for links, buttons, and accents.
Favicon — uploaded per help center.
Theme mode — light, dark, or follow system.
Layout configuration
Header links — arbitrary links in the public header (e.g. "Status", "Contact").
Footer — configurable footer links and text.
Homepage config — headline, subheading, and layout of the home hero.
Space nav config — order and presentation of spaces in the top navigation.
Search placeholder — custom search placeholder text.
Support email — shown in the footer for escalation.
All of it is stored in the help center settings and updated from workspace settings by admins. Logos, favicon, and OG images are uploaded from the same settings.
Widget integration
The help center can include the chat widget (turn it on in help center settings), so customers reading docs can start a conversation without leaving the site — conversations flow into your Support inbox with the article context.
Previewing
Config changes (branding, homepage, nav) preview in the help center immediately after saving — iterate until it looks right; nothing about article publishing changes when you rebrand.
