Built-in agents

Every Helpin workspace comes with a set of built-in agents. Helpin maintains their instructions, skills and tools, so they're ready to use without any setup. You'll find them on Automation > Agents with a System badge.

The built-in agents

Scribe	Coding Task Planner	Breaks work into tasks and refines them using existing specs and code context.
Forge	Code Builder	Writes code, implements features and fixes bugs in a connected repository.
Lens	QA & Code Reviewer	Reviews work and runs checks, then discusses and makes agreed fixes on the same branch.
Echo	Support Agent	Answers live support conversations with grounded replies and hands off to your team when it can't help.
Quill	Documentation Agent	Keeps internal docs, public help docs and API docs accurate, organized and current.
Beacon	CRM Operator	Works across deals, contacts and companies using CRM, support and docs context.
Mira	Marketer	Plans growth work, writes marketing copy and campaigns, and synthesizes customer signals.
Ask Agent	Workspace Assistant	Answers questions and carries out work from the Ask Agent chat.
Sub-agent	Sub-agent	Handles one delegated task with a limited set of tools.

How built-in agents start

Built-in agents don't have a Run now option on the Agents page. They start from the places where their work happens, such as a task, an epic or a support conversation, from a flow, or when Ask Agent hands work to them. Ask Agent and Sub-agent work together inside the Ask Agent chat. See Chat with Ask Agent and Sub-agents for one-off tasks.

Coding agents

Forge and Lens work in code repositories you've connected to Helpin. Coding runs share execution capacity, so a new coding run can wait in a queue before it starts. Self-hosted Helpin Community 0.1 doesn't include coding agents.

What you can change

You can't delete or rename a built-in agent, but you can adjust how it works:

• AI profile — choose which AI profile the agent uses. The change applies to new runs straight away.

• Instructions, skills, tools, working areas and run mode — create a custom version, edit it and set it as active.
