Shortcut integration

Moving your project work from Shortcut? Import your stories, epics, objectives, workflows, docs, and people into Helpin with a guided wizard. The import is a one-time copy: Helpin doesn't keep syncing with Shortcut afterwards.

Before you start

• You need to be a workspace Admin or Owner.

• Create a Shortcut API token. In Shortcut, go to Settings → API Tokens.

Import from Shortcut

1. Open Settings and, under Integration, select Import & export.

2. Under Project Management, choose Shortcut.

3. In Connect to Shortcut, paste your API token and select Connect.

4. Work through the wizard steps, using Next and Back:

Step	What you choose
Connect	What do you want to import? Tasks, Epics, Objectives, and Docs, plus filters such as date range, Include archived tasks, and Include completed tasks. For docs, pick a Docs space and Collection
Teams	For each Shortcut team, Create new or Use existing Helpin team
Workflows	Map each Shortcut workflow state to a Helpin state. States marked Needs mapping must be mapped
Users	Match each Shortcut user to a Helpin member, invite them, or Skip
Import	Review the summary and any warnings, then select Start import

Shortcut stories become Helpin tasks.

What gets imported

Depending on your choices, Helpin imports teams, workflows and states, labels, objectives, epics, sprints, tasks, docs, checklist items, comments, attachments, and links.

Track your import

The Recent Shortcut imports table shows each import and its progress. Open Import details to see what happened, Cancel an import that's running, or Retry one that failed.

Run the import again

You can run another import later, for example to pick up recent changes. Tasks that were already imported are skipped rather than duplicated, though their team, epic, sprint, and state are updated to match Shortcut.

Good to know

• Your API token is used only for imports; there's no lasting connection to disconnect.

• Imports from other project tools such as Linear and Jira are shown as Coming Soon.
