Browse the tool catalog
The tool catalog lists every action and data source that Helpin agents can call. Use it to find out what an agent is able to do before you give it a tool, or to check what a tool expects as input.
Open the tool catalog
In the sidebar, open Automation.
Under Catalog, select Tools.
The page lists Helpin's own tools and, if your workspace has connected external MCP servers, the tools those servers provide.
Find a tool
Type part of a tool name or description in Search tools....
Select a category, such as PM / Tasks, Docs, CRM or Support, to show only that group. Select All to clear the filter.
Select a category heading to expand or collapse its list. The number next to each heading shows how many tools it contains.
Read a tool entry
Each entry shows:
Part | What it tells you |
|---|---|
Name | The tool's name, as it appears when you choose tools for an agent and in run transcripts. |
Agent labels | The built-in agents that use this tool by default, such as Scribe, Quill or Beacon. |
Description | What the tool does and when an agent should use it. |
Params | How many inputs the tool accepts. Select the entry to see each input's name, type, whether it is required, and a description. |
What the catalog doesn't do
The catalog is a reference. Browsing it doesn't give any agent access to a tool. To let an agent use a tool, add it to the agent's settings; see Give agents tools and skills.
An agent can only use a tool when all of these are true:
The tool is available in your workspace.
The tool is selected in the agent's settings.
For external MCP tools, the server is connected and the tool is turned on for the workspace.
External tools
Tools from connected MCP servers appear in the External MCP category. Workspace managers connect servers and choose which of their tools are available. See External MCP servers.
